The costs on this page need several words of caution. The hull cost dates back to the quotation in Autumn 2003 and the final invoice did not alter one euro cent. In early 2004, after our steel had been purchased, steel prices increased considerably. It has also become apparent, for a variety of reasons, that the original quotation was extremely keen and would be almost impossible to match - certainly not from a UK builder and probably not now in the Netherlands. I spent many hours researching suppliers and tracking down good deals - perhaps I should be in "The Apprentice"! We also did a lot of work ourselves whilst at the builder. Finally, many non safety critical items I have purchased are without warranty which may not be acceptable if a complete barge is being ordered from a boatyard.

The table below gives some idea of costs. I have tried to group up the main items, but inevitably there are those little things that one picks up along the way, that have been missed off. |
